charge of the tickets. She says that
no previous effort of the society has
offered the entertainment and music

The popularity of the Skylarks, which
have been engaged for this occasion,
through the courtesy of radio casting
station WGIIP, have created an add-
ed demand for tickets. A grand
march, a scene of kaleidoscopic color-
' ing, will be led by one of the foun-
ders of this organization in the year
1909.

The( second annual membership
party, held at the Shaarey Zedeck
Synagogue on Sunday evening, Dec.
20, was a marked success. Seventy-
five couples attended as a result of
the large increase in membership this
season.
Junior liadassah celebrated its fifth
birthday during the week of the Feast
f Lights. It has throughout the coun-
try 1(14 units and 122 groups. The
coming year brings greater respon-
sibilities as Junior Hadassah has un-
dertaken the maintenance of an edu-
cational institute for orphan children
at Meier Chfeye, Palestine.
Miss Ethel Steinberg, chairman of
the membership committee may be
reached at her home, 1518 Edison ave-
nue, and will be glad to answer any
questions concerning Junior Hadassah
activities as well as to receive names
of prospective members. Miss Rose
Lipsitz, president of the Detroit unit,

The business arrangements for the
fourteenth annual dance of the Jew-
ish Old Folks Home, which will be
given at the Arcadia on Jan. 14, have
been completed by the Junior Auxil-
iary of the home, which is taking
charge of the affair. A souvenir year
hook will be presented to each guest
at the ball as well as to the advertis-
ers. The proceeds from the affair will
he used toward the building fund of
the home. Plans are being formulated
to erect a new home on Davison and
Linwood avenues, where the associa-
tion owns a lot.
Meetings of the young people's so-
riety are held every Wednesday eve-
ning at 8 o'clock at Congregation
Emanuel, Taylor and Wilson avenues.
All boys and girls interested are urged
to attend and become members.
