Israel Unterberg, prominent New Yrok merchant and philanthropist, has
contributed the sum of $200,000 to the teachers institute of the Jewish
Theological Seminary. The money will he used for extending and broaden-
ing the activities of the teachers institute in preparing teachers for Jewish
schools and Talmud Torahs. Although no official statement has been made,
it is expected that the funds donated by Mr. Unterberg will be used for the
