Faulty Shoes Termed Cause of

Foot Ills by Members of
Hack Company.

The human foot is the foundation
on which the human structure is
built, according to officials of the
Back Shoe Company, who declare
that the foot does more work than
any other part of the body.
"It carries the weight of the body,
whether standing or walking," one
off,ial said. In walking it lifts the
w eight of the body at every step.
During the course of a day the feet
lift hundreds of tons.
"The care of the feet and their
protection are of far greater impor-
tance than thought by the average
person. Foot troubles make one un-
efficiency. It is
fit for happiness And
hard to be energetic and active when
one's feet hurt.
"The average person does not
know that foot trouble: are caused
chiefly by improperly constructed or
poorly fitted shoes which throw the
arches out of balance. With this in
mind, the first arch corrective shoe
was made seven years ago and has
gradually been improved until today

Vilna Troupe' Will Pay Final

The Vilna troupe, which scored
telling triumph in two plays present-
ed in Detroit two weeks ago, will ap-
pear in this city for the last time this '
year in two' of' th,e most powerful
plays in its repertoire, "Die Mish-
poeho" (The Family) and "Die Ne-
valah" (The Goor For Nothing), Sun-
day afternoon and evening, June 29,
at Orchestra Hall. The troupe, which
has been heralded as one of the most
unique dramatic groups on the pres-
ent-day stage, in view of the superior
ability of each one of the players,
plans to return to Europe to prepare
for a new series of dramas. Critics
, have vied with one another in
n g i % pg

a full measure of praise to the sin-
cerity and vivid character of the
• troupe's performances. In Detroit,
as elsewhere, the presence of the or-
; ganization has been the occasion for
I. an impressive outpodring of lovers of
genuine drama.
The troupe's visit next Sunday will
1
be the only opportunity Detroiters
will have to see these splendid artists
play- in what may be a prolonged
period.

The Ilerzls had a humorous pro-

dialogue, "Sammy Blintzes," was
read to the club because the players
were not available. I.ast Sunday the
Ilerzls went to Belle Isle, where they
had baseball practice, swimming and
canoeing. Club pictures were taken.
This was the first social of the term
