Hebrew Baby Day Nursery.

The opening of the Detroit Hebrew
Baby Day Nursery has been definite-
ly set for Sunday, June 10, at 2 p. m.,
in the nursery building at 545 East
Canfield avenue.
The Mt. Clemens affair was a great
success and the nursery extends its
particular thanks to the many patron-
izers and Mr. Elkin of Elkin's Hotel.

Philomathic Debating Club.
Preparations have been started by
Benjamin Salk, chairman of the ar-
rangements committee, fur the twen-
tieth annual model meeting of the
Philomathic Debating Club, which is
to be staged at the Shaarey Zedek
congregation on June 20.
The weekly address for last Sun-
day was given by Dr. Harry August.
Sydney Koretz, who was voted best
speaker, with his colleague, Meyer
Weisenfeld, defeated the affirmative
team composed of Max l'erlstein and
Jack Schulman, on the debate, "Re-
solved, that the United States adopt
the British parliamentary form of
government." Wilbur DeYoung, Won-
unary alumnus, was critic, of the
evening. Samuel Sternberg and Jack
Seibold gave short talks to the club.
With the coming holiday in view, the
meeting will start at 2:30 Sunday af-
ternoon at the Kirby Center. A cur-
rent topics program will be held for
that afternoon. Those who will speak
and their topics are: H. Cohen, Zion-
ism and the Jewish problem; J. Jo-
sephson, Socialism; I. Schlussel, the
Jews in Poland; II. SchitIman, the
Indian question; S. Stein, immigra-
tion as an issue in 1924; L. Stein,
Danzig; S. Talberg, the automotive
industry; E. Weiss, idols and ideals;
B. Alpert, Socialism; H. Rosenstein,
the radio. A mock trial will be held
