The Jewish People's Relief Society, repre cluing Jewish lalsir organizations
throughout the United States. met in a two days' convention at Philadelphia, l'a.,
last month. Between 500 and 600 delegates were present. It was decided to
bring 1.000 Jewish war orphans to this country from Europe. Not only will the
organization provide the traveling expenses of these orphans,
but it will make 81
itself responsible for their maintenance and education until they have reached
the age at which they can care for themselves. After
spirited debate it is as
decided to continue the affiliation with the Joint Distribution Committee.

Board, has accepted appointment by Secretary of \Aar Baker as the repre=enta.
tive of that organizItion on the War Memorials Council to succeed the late
Col. Harry Cutler. This council is composed of men and women of national
prominence to advise the 11'ar Department periodically in matters regarding
American military dead overseas and national cemeteries which will be estab-

died in London, has just been made public. Henry. who was well known in
