THE DETROIT JEWISH CHRONICLE
Mr. Groesbeck Will Be Your
Kind of a Governor!
"YOU"---TO WHOM WE ARE SPEAKING---are the
clean, decent, self-respecting, law-abiding men and
women of Michigan. Mr. Groesbeck Nv i I I be "your"
kind of a governor. He will not be the kind that is
Ivanted by the forces of evil and corruption.
MICHIGAN NEEDS A REAL NIAN in her executive
Chamber---a man with an iron nerve and a golden
heart---a man who has ideas and knows how to
make them work---a man w ith a big mind, but with-
out a big head---a loyal, able, virile leader---a
thinker, a worker, a doer!
M R. GROESBECK IS A BIGMAN. He does big things.
in a big way. He is the kind of man who will again
put Michigan to the fore as a pathfinder among the
states. His career is a record of achievements—not
for his own selfish aggrandizement, but for the good
of the People of Michigan.
WHO IS ALEX. J. GROESBECK? He is the present
Attorney-General of Michigan,---Michigan's Fight-
ing Lawyer," as he is known throughout the coun-
try. What he has done

nearly $40,000 of back money and these companies
now pay a fixed royalty that turns in thousands of
dollars each year.
DURING THE 1919 SESSION OF THE LEGISLA-
TURE, Mr. Groesbeck rendered an opinion that it
was constitutional for the women of Michigan to
vote on presidential electors and the act giving the
women the right was then passed. He also gave an
opinion that the salaries of teachers could legally
be increased during the period they had contracted
to serve.
ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT ACTS of Attor-
ney-General Groesbeck was clearing the Jackson
prison situation. The legislative committee reported
a shortage of nearly a million dollars, and reflected
on the management of the prison and the contract
for its sale of binder twine through the Gleaners, to
ascertain the truth of the matter and so well did he
burrow to the bottom that the Trust Company was
forced to repudiate its report and the prison man-
agement was exoner-
ated.
