The new Hebrew Home for itcurahles, which was formerly the Gunther
mansion at Baltimore and Che4er streets, Baltimore, Md., was officially
opened to the public recently. The home can accommodate 75 patients, but
at present there are only 25
inmates cared for by' the institution. The insti-
tution cost $50,000, which was raised by a private subscription which was
made by the board of directors.

VIENNA.—As a protest against
the anti-Semitic pogroms of the stu-
dents and the avowed hostility of Prof. Schwindt, head of the Vienna Uni-
versity. the Jewish professors of this school have resolved to seek positions

The Jewish Consumptives' Relief Society of Deliver, Colo., has opened a
convalescent department. Henceforth it will have a separate home for such
patients as are not sick enough to require hospital or sanatorium care yet
not strong enough to resume work so as to be self-supporting. Mr. I. Rude,
second vice-president, has deeded to the organization an eight-acre tract of
/ land consisting of farm and orchard with a number of one-story buildings
originally designed for sanatorium purposes. It is beautifully situated on a
high piece of ground about a mile and a half from the J. C. R. S. Sanatorium.
