'Maintaining passenger car speed
on the trip a GMc one-ton truck
made a wonderful run from Indian-
apolis. to Detroit on Monday," says
Harry R. Graham, of Owen & Gra-
ham, distributors for the General Mo.
tors Truck company.
"The truck was loaded to capa-
city and driven by William R. Ma-
hon, of the sales promotion depart-
ment, who was accompanied by Ma-
jor Fletcher, who had charge of dis-
patching ambulances during the war.
The start was made at Indianapolis
at 6 o'clock Monday morning and the
truck was at Pontiac at 1 o'clock
Tuesday looming, averaging better
than 22 miles an hour.
"This is a much faster delivery
than can be made by any other
means these days and shows what
good trucks can do in express ser-
vice."

Dr. D. Yellin, president of the
Council of Jerusalem Jews, and welt-
known scholar, and Dr. Oplatka,
senior medical officer of the War De-
partment, were awarded membership
of the British Empire, for the ex-
cellent services rendered by them.
