What turned out to be the banner
event under Chairman Freedman's
regime was held on Monday evening,
February 9th, in the Washington Pro-
gressive Club Rooms, in the Institute
Building, 239 East High street, in the
form of a "social gathering" for the
organization's members and friends
The presiding chairman, Mr. Freed-
man, called the meeting to order in
regular fashion at 8:15 p. in. followed
by roll call, then came the reports of
the various committees, after which
business on the salute was taken care
of in good order.
After the regular routine, Mr. D.
Diamond, a member of the organiza-
tion, displayed his talent with the
bow and string by rendering several
violin solos. Mr. Diamond was also
assisted at different periods of the
evening by his brother, Wm. Dia-
mond, on the drum, and bliss black
at the piano.
Heading the singers were Win. B.
Abratusobn, who rendered several of
the late jazz pieces. Hr was fol-
lowed by Mr. S. Row Lipman. the
Club's Baritone singer, who enter-
tained with some of 51cCormack's
latest song hits. Other members of
the organization who sang were Jack
Harris, 0. Skolneck, Max Richman
and "Doc" Waterstone, who also act-
ed as chairman of the entertainment.
Before adjournment it was voted to
hold these social gatherings monthly.
