Dear Mr. Moebs:—
Below please find copy of resolution adopted
by the Detroit Hotel Association at their regular
meeting yesterday morning:
WHEREAS, The attention of the Detroit Ho-
tel Association has been called to the "raid" made
by the Police Department last Saturday night
upon the Restaurant of the Tuxedo'Hotel;
AND, WHEREAS, We are informed that
said raid was made upon the claim by the police
officers that certain waiters and patrons had in
their possession intoxicating liquors;
AND, WHEREAS, As competitors of the
Tuxedo Hotel, we know from our own experience
that it requires a constant conflict with both wait-
ers and patrons to prevent intoxicating liquors be-
ing brought into any public restaurant;
AND, WHEREAS, We believe that Mr. Will-
iam D. C. Mocbs, as the head of the Company op-
erating said Tuxedo Company has consistently
labored to prevent any unlawful handling of
liquor in said Restaurant, and that said Company
has openly and consistently announced and fol-
lowed the policy of neither buying, selling, keep-
ing nor furnishing liquors to patrons.
NOW, THEREFORE, Believing that the
said Tuxedo Hotel and Restaurant has been un-
justly and unfairly treated, whether from mistake
or otherwise, we know not, we resolve that we
tender to William D. C. Moths and the Tuxedo
Hotel and Restaurant cy:r support, to the end
that justice may be se , mied for you and your
Company.
Your:, very tr::ly,
IIARRIMAN,
::AR!;
President.
