Closed Car Salon
The stage for Detroit's first exclusive exhibition of enclosed motor
cars is rapidly being set for the Detroit Auto Dealers' association and
automobile show goers are promised a number of surprises when the
Closed Car Salon opens its doors on Monday evening, October 6th.
From the vast amount of comment and interest which is already
attached to this autumn classic there is no doubt but what it will rival
the annual winter shows as an attraction for Detroit's motoring popu-
lation_

at Hendrie street, where the salon
is to be held. With nothing but
high grade enclosed cars to be
shown, the .rest of the setting must
of necessity be in keeping with the
class of the finest limousines and
the show management is leaving
no stone unturned to make this
event one that will set a standard
for other metropolitan centers to
copy. Throughout the large ex-
hibition hall, the ,aututn garden

nature is emphasized by the fact
that they have made special efforts
to supply their Detroit representa-
tives with display cars. In many
instances it has been necessary to
speed up work on the new bodies
to have them ready for the show,
but„almost without exception they
have been only too willing to rttW
the cars through so that they would
not miss the opportunity to lie rep-
resented in the salon.
The demand ftir this type of car
has grown remarkably fast during
the last three years and today the
percentage of closed cars in use is
astonishing when it is considered
that originally cars were sold with-
out tops or windshield,. It is esti-
mated that another season or two
will find at least tifty per cent of
the buyers in northern states de-
manding enclosed bodies, and the
closed car salon should become an
annual event of equal inniortance
with the automobile shows in which
all types of motor vehicle; and
accessories are displayed.
