Once more theater audiences show
the return of women's fashion to gay
colors and c sclusk e trimmings. The
new designs that we are showing in-
troduce novelties, sometimes of an
extreme type. again just piquant
enough to arrest the attention of even
the most fastidious debutante or
matron. And the conventional mod-
els are worn with a grace and knowl-
edge that impart a note of distinction.
One simple gown that It. Siegel
Co. are showing is a pale green and
silver tulle. The feather bands which
extend across the shoulders have a
softening effect against the face. The
bands of ostrich feather trimming
also ornaments the skirt at the sides,
between the long lines of silver lace
which run from skirt belt to hand,
forming panels at the back and front.
Ostrich feathers are conspicuous in
modish trimmings. They are applied
as lines of fringe or in band effect.
Fringe is also frequently used as a
decoration for gowns of the dressy
type. For instance, a charming little
evening gown of soft rose chartueuse
shown by this house, has a low round
neck and short sleeves trimmed with
a line of fringe. The skirt has a full
panel at the back and front—drawn
in at the bottom in Turkish effect, and
attached to a rather narrow under-
skirt. the panels hanging lower than
the underskirt. The sides of the up-
per part of the, underskirt are trim-
med with several rows of the narrow
fringe.
Street suits and afternoon suits in
spring style are now seen on every
hand. The skirts are long, about
ankle length. and quite narrow. Many
skirts are slit at the back to insure
greater freedom in walking. The
jackets are long, about finger tip
length being the favored length and
many of them flare slightly at the
bottom. In the shorter coats chic box
models are very popular.—Ads'.
