VAGE THREE

I

FOR

PALESTINE RESTORATION

Statement By Rabbi Leo M.
Franklin, of Temple Bet Et.

Statement By Rabbi A. M.
Hershma not Shaarey Zedek
Congregation

"Any person with a spark of
genuine Jewish feeling must

The reconstruction work re-
garding Palestine should appeal
to every jew and Jewess whose
heart beats with love for the
Jewish religion and the Jewish
people. The crying need of Isreal
today is a Jewish center, a center
whence should emanate influ-
ences tending to quicken the
Jewish consciousness, to deepen
the Jewish spirit, to revivify and
strengthen the sense of Jewish
solidarity. Zionism is essential-
ly a conservation movement
having as its aim the conserva-
tion of our most precious re-
sources—our Jewish resources.
The appeal for the Palestine Re-
storation Fund should strike a
-Donsive chord in the heart of
ever) loyal Jew or Jewess. -

share in the hope that the efforts

presently being put forth to

make Palestine habitable for

such of the Jews of the world as

care to live there will be realized.

The Palestine Restoration Fund

to which subscriptions are now

being asked here and throughout

the land will therefore, as it

should, be generously supported

by all classes of Jews irrespective

of their sympathy or lack of sym-

pathy with Zionism."—From

cle, Jan. 25, 1918.
