Talk of Dr. Inches.

A deeper realization of the full
horrors of the war, and of the splen-
did work which the Red Cross is do-
ing to alleviate suffering, was brought
home to the members of the Wom-
en's Auxiliary by 1 . 4. James \V.
Inches at the regular meeting Mon-
day, Feb. II, at Temple Beth El. Dr.
Inches, who has just returned from
Europe, told of sad scenes he had wit-
nessed in France and Belgium, where
women, children and old men are be-
ing brought hack to their devastated
homes, and of the Iced Cross work
in rebuilding their homes and restor-
ing them to their former condition.
lie told also of the educational work
being done for blind and maimed sol-
diers, so that they may finish their
lives in self-respect and comfort.
'Hie remainder of the program con-
sisted of readings by Miss Irene Gold-
stone, who at the last moment kindly
consented to appear.
Reports of the various committees
were made by the chairman, of espe-
cial interest being the report of Mrs.

the unit will work as usual all day
Thursdays, and in order to finish the
