Ivor Kahn Voted Barber Prize by Faculty and Student Body.
At the recent commencement exer-
cises of the Highland Park high
school, Ivor Kahn, son of Samuel B.
Kahn of 29 Waverly avenue, was
awarded the Barber prize for being
the ablest student in the institution.
The prize is awarded annually for ex-
cellency and efficiency in all phases
of high school work—athletics, schol-
arship, and debating. He is the first
Jewish student during the existence
of the Highland Park high school to

school. He always maintained a hH,
standard of efficiency in his swill.

brilliant students of the class. While
president of the Dramatic club, h e
was instrumental in lifting. that or-
ganization from an inconspicuou s
place to the foremost position zol
school organization. He was recent-
ly elected a member of the Omicron
club, which consists of eight of the
most brilliant and ablest students of
the graduating class. He again dem-
onstrated his popularity when he wis
overwhelmingly elected treasurer of
his graduating class. He is only 16
years of age.
Mr. Kahn is to be congratulated
upon the record lie has made, and hi,
parents and numerous friends look
for him to make a still greater mmc
for himself during his college career.

administration course at the Univer-
sity of Michigan.

be awarded this coveted honor, and
it serves as an impetus for Mr. Kahn
in his future work. Mr. Kahn was
unanimously chosen from a list of
four students, who were first nomi-
nated by the student body and then
decided upon by the faculty of the
school. In bestowing the honor upon
him, the board took into considera-
tion the various services that Mr.
Kahn rendered the institution.
Mr. Kahn recently took part in the
Philomathic-Highland Park debate,
and was conceded to be one of the
best speakers of the program, al-
though his side was defeated. Later
he distinguished himself as captain of
