SOCIETY

Mr. and Mrs. Louis Goldman
announce the confirmation of
their son Harvey on Monday,
May 28, at Congregation Mogaim
Abraham.
Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Kahn of 264
East Kirby avenue are now oc-
cupying their new home at 471
Virginia Park.
Mr. J. Guttman of Pittsburgh,
Pa., is visiting in the city.

AT THE THRESHOLD OF AMER-
ICA'S GREATEST PROSPERITY.

Though just entering a world-wide
war, we arc at the portal of a tremen-

dous wave of business prosperity.
Good citizens think these days in
terms of the whole nation rather than
of the individual. America is called
upon to supply the world with the
necessities of life, clothing, munitions
for carrying on the war, etc.
Times to work harder—to think
harder. The prosperity that the
country is about to enjoy will over-
shadOw anything in our past history
—and business from the start must
be kept going in a normal healthy,
prosperous fashion.
How can B. Siegel Co. serve that
patriotic end? One way, by bettering
a service that many have thought was
already the best; by making this great
store of fashion a still more useful
store for womankind; by bringing the
largest and best stocks of merchandise
to the people of this community; by
using the strength of our tremendous
output in pricing garments so that
every dollar will be mustered into the
service of doing double. duty.
At the beginning of summertime,
B. Siegel & Co. is at your service,
with a marvelous, broad and fine vari-
ety of new • apparel selected with
singular fitness to the demands of the
hour.
Whenever you shop at this store
you will find that the printed page
has no over-stated facts. You will
discover that B. Siegel Co.'s garments
have a quality, character and style
that appeals to the discriminating
buyer.—Adv.

On Sunday evening, May 20,
the Unity Club will give their
second dance of the season at the
Majestic (lance hall on Wood-
ward and Willis avenues. This
organization, though quite a new
one, has gained a good deal of
prominence through the fact that
the members are trying to live up
to the club's aim, "The promotion
of socialibity among the young
Jewish people of Detroit." The
committee in charge have been
working very hard to make this
dance an even greater success
than the one given last month.
Tickets may be secured from any
of the members or at the hall on
the evening of the (lance, and a
good time is assured to all those
present.
A regular meeting of the Delta
Phi Sorority was held on Monday
evening, May 14, at the home of
Miss Anna Fisher, 308 East High

ably spent in arranging and plan-
ning for the "May Walk," which
will be held on Sunday, May 20.

Jewish students attending the
Detroit College of Law, Detroit
College of Medicine and Univer-
sity of Detroit have organized and
arc meeting regularly Sunday
evenings at Temple Beth El.
While the object of the organiza-
tion is primarily to bring together
the Jewish professional students
of the city, it is also to help the
community in worthy propagan-
da. An executive committee has
been elected as follows : M.
Schwartz, E. Reiss, L. D. Mayer,
B. Holub and R. Yanover. The
following constitute a committee
