June will be a month of weddings, the dates of several having
already been announced. The marriage of Miss Helen Wineman to
Mr. Harry Farhstein has been planned for the fourth of the month,
that of Miss Florence Brown and Dr. Charles Yahlen will occur on the
7th. Miss Anna Loewenstein of Mt. Clemens and Mr. Bernard Ans,
pach have chosen Monday, June 11, as the date of their marriage.
Two weddings are scheduled for Wednesday, June 27, that of Miss
Sylvia Fink and Mr. Harry Goldberg taking place at noon, and in the
evening Miss Mignonne Bing and Mr. Fred A. Ginsburg will be united
in marriage.
At a meeting of the Jewish Woman's Club, held on Sunday, May
6, Mr. David A. Brown addressed the members on the subject,
"Woman's Part in the Coming Campaign to Raise Funds for Suffer-
ing Co-Religionists." Plans were formulated whereby the , Jewish
Woman's Club would sponsor a movement for collecting funds from
women only, and actual work along these lines will begin shortly.
The club was the initial contributor, sending $200 and at a special
meeting of the board of directors supplementing this sum with $100,
the amount which would have been expended upon the annual ban-
quet. The following officers and directors have been elected for the
ensuing year : President, Miss Miriam Goldman ; vice-presidents,
Mrs. Max May, Mrs. Monroe Rosenfield, recording secretary, Miss
Hattie Gittleman ; corresponding secretary, Mrs. A. P. Breitenbach ;
financial secretary, Miss Frances Simon ; treasurer, Mrs. S. Glogower ;
auditor, Mrs. Joseph Ehrlich ; custodian, Mrs. Henry A. Krolik. Ad-
ditional directors include Mrs. Flora Goodman, Mrs. Charles C.
Simons, Mrs. Samuel Netzorg, Mrs. Adolph Sloman, Miss Anna
Solomon, Mrs. Sidney Silberman, Mrs. David A. Brown, Mrs. Samuel
Kaufman, Miss Hattie Hilburn, Mrs. David Stocker, Mrs. Mayer
Sulzberger, Mrs. Wolf Kaplan, Miss Sadie Goldstein, Mrs. S. M. Gold-
smith, Mrs. Jacob Herstein, Mrs. H. Frank and Mrs. M. Benmosche.
Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Tan-
nenholz are visiting in New York.
Rabbi Leo M. Franklin ad-
dressed the nurses in the grad-
uating class of the Children's Free
Hospital on Tuesday evening. On
Sunday Rabbi Franklin addressed
the Student Congregation at Ann
Arbor upon the subject, "Our
Present Duty."
Miss Martha Van Baalen has
left for a visit in Chicago and
South Bend, Ind.
Mrs. Fred Marymont of West
Grand Boulevard is the guest of
her sisters, the Misses Bloom, in
Cincinnati.
Among the Detroiters regis-
tered at the Clark Hotel during
the week were Mr. and Mrs. Max
Pollasky and their sons, Louis
and Norman.
The many friends of Mrs.
Henry Krolik will be glad to
know that she is convalescing
after a serious illness.
