PHILOMATHIC DEBATES ON
LABOR QUESTION.

"Time Open Shop vs. the Closed
Shop," was the subject discussed at
the last meeting of the Philomathic
Debating Club. The participants, M.
Fink and M. Goldstick on the affirma-
tive, and A. Brasch and S. Sternberg
on the negative, presented a very in-
teresting debate, arguing the question
from all possible viewpoints. The de-
cision of the organization was given
to the negative by an overwhelming
vote. Other members of the organ-
ization participated under general dis-
cussion and added to the views already
expressed. The question for the 20th
is "Selective Conscription vs. Volun-
tary Service." An interesting debate
is expected and as this is sTicli a vital
question, the general public is invited
to attend. The meetings of the so-
ciety are held every Sunday evening
at 7 o'clock at the Talmud Torah
Bldg.
