of re-organization provides that each

FLOWER DAY OF JEWISH NA-
TIONAL FUND, MAY 20.
Two hundted and fifty Jewish girls
and women are needed to aid the lo-
cal campaign of the Jewish National
Fund on Flower Day, Sunday, May
20th. The support given by the Jew-
ish National Fund provides the means
of an honorable livelihood by produc-
tive work for hundreds of Jewish
workmen in Palestine who would
otherwise be without means of sup-
port. Flower Day last year netted
about $1,000, and the aim of the local
committee is to better this sum this
year. A meeting will be held at the
home of I. L. Schcinman, 90 Rowena
St., Wednesday evening, May 2, at
which an invitation is extended to all
young women to attend and receive
instructions for the fourth Annual
Flower Day.

POPULAR YIDDISH DRAMA AT
DETROIT OPERA HOUSE.

"Clear Conscience" Title of Play Pre-
sented on Sunday by Galaxy
of Yiddish Actors.

A Yiddish play that is conceded to
have achieved the greatest success of
the season will be presented at the
Detroit Opera House on Sunday,
April 29, for two performances, mat-
inee and evening. The play, "Reine
Gewissen" or "Clear Conscience," was
written by Max Gabel, who appears
as one of the leading members of
the cast of eminent Yiddish actors of
New York. The comedy-drama in
four acts deals with the white slave
traffic from a Jewish standpoint and
background. It unflinchingly attacks
a condition that has been a disgrace
to the Jewish people of America, and
portrays situations in a true-to-life
manner that only the Yiddish stage
is able to mirror vividly and without
offense to the most sensitive. Over
300,000 people have seen this play.
Edwin Relkin, the well-known Yid-
dish theatrical manager, says, "When
I first saw the production of "Clear
Conscience" in New York, I was
struck with the great power and force
of the play, and the strong, thrilling,
and at the same time realistic man-
ner of the acting. Not only as a play
did "Clear Conscience" appeal to m;.
The moral purpose of this drama, the
vital problem it treated, the social
theme it developed and portrayed, in-
terested me and grv.sped my soul. I
am positive that "Clear Conscience"
is a play that will influence the life
of everyone that will see it played.
The effect of this great drama will
be to elevate the soul of all human
beings."
