Will Sell Flowers on May 21--Proceeds to Go to National Fund
The annual flower day held all
over the United States under the
auspices of the National Fund will
take place on May 21st.
On that day two hundred girls
will station themselves on all
prominent corners in the Jewish
district of Detroit and sell flowers,
the proceeds of which will go to the
National Fund. Last year hun-
dreds of dollars were raised for the
cause of Zionism in this manner.
and this year it is confidently ex-
pected that the results will be even
more gratifying.
Mr. Louis Stoll is taking active
charge of Flower Day, and is de-
voting considerable energy towards
making it a success. Ile has al-
ready secured the names of two
hundred Jewish young women who
have volunteered their services.
The first meeting of all the volun-
teers will be held Saturday even-
ing at the home of bliss I). Nliller,
102 Nledbury Avenue, where all
arrangements will be made and
plans perfected for the work on
Flower Day. Mr. Stoll is en-
deavoring to obtain the names of
more volunteers. These are urged
to communicate with him at 330
Penobscot Building . . In order to
make the work interesting, the
committee in charge is offering
handsome prizes to all volunteers.
Debate
Will Consider Question of Abolishing Secrecy in the Order
"To be or not to be—that's the
question," quoth Hamlet. To be
or not to be a secret order, that's
the ,question—add B'Rith
men all over the country.
For the order of B'Nai B'Rith
is seriously considering the matter
of abolishing secrecy within the
order—and before no lodge where
the question has come up for dis-
cussion has it created as much
stormy interest as before Pisgah
Lodge. After much heated discus-
sion on both sides, it has been de-
cided to hold a debate on the sub-
ject at the next open meeting of the
