Any such action, if discovered, would have a very harmful effect on the man's mili- tary record, and possibly subject him to a prosecution for perjury. More- over, aside from the danger of discov- ery, we have not yet reached such des- perate straits that it is necessary for young men to swear falsely in order to save the country. INSTRUCTOR. WOOD) MAY BE 1IADE NEARLY AS INDESTRUCTIBLE AS STEEL That wood is nearly as indestructi- ble as steel if used intelligently, is the opinion of O. P. Goss, engineer of the West Coast Lumbermen's associa- tion, according to the University of Washington Daily. In a talk before foresters in conven- tion, Mr. Goss pointed out the advan- tages of using wood in place of steel and the various characteristics of the different kinds of wood.
