Number One I IS THE GOAL SET U Equipment, - $2,500 Busrah Fund - $1,500 Michigan men and women have given their energy and time, ruined their health, and undergone every privation in fever-infested, plague-ridden Busrah-all for humanity's sake. Michigan's little hospital there treated over 11,000 cases last year. Dr. VanVlack, '1OM, Dr. Bennett, '04M, and Miss Holzhauser, nurse '13, have worked tirless', ad u_1i giy in alleviating suffering and curing disease. Miss Clara Sargent, '1 5M, has volunteered to go to Bus- rah as Michigan's representative. Dr. Van Vlack is now in LOBBY OF LANE HALL Lane Hall and Newberry Hall are your buildings Michigan men and women. Lane Hall was given by alumni and friends. It provides social rooms, meeting rooms for organizations, a library, offices for general work and for work of the various denominations in Ann Arbor, a banquet hall and an auditorium. The Employ- ment office last year gave out 3,512 jobs for total earnings of $55,268,78 which helped 500 men through school. The need for equipment and general running expenses for a building like this is obvious. A SCENE IN BUSRAH NEWBERRY HALL Newberry Hall, the building of the Y. W. C. A., is financed along with the Y. M. C. A. In this building is an active organiza- tion which directs the Religious work of the college women, and which has given definite tasks of a social service nature to over 600 Michigan women. The Newberry Tea Room has been a distinct accommodation to many college women. Now is your chance to help these Organizations which have meant and will mean so much in the lives of many Michigan men and women. Ann Arbor securing a much needed rest after six years in- cessant work. He intends to return soon. Whether Miss Sargent and Dr. Van Vlack can continue in the life of sacri- fice which they have chosen depends on Michigan's generous support. Men and women of Michigan, this is your project, your benefaction, your opportunity! A dollar in Busrah will do what ten will here.
