Therefore-- Get Started Right First, be a man, a real man; do the things and do them in the way that a man would do them. Be honest with yourself. Second, be a Michigan man; a Freshman, of course, but be a real Freshman; green, not yellow; get wise, but don't show it; take all the knocks that come your way, but come up smiling, for in a few short months you'll be the Soph that thinks he knows it all-you'll have your time then. Third-Get acquainted,-not only with your fellow classmates, but most particularly with the firms you do business with while you are in Ann Arbor. It is a good plan to inquire as to the reliability of the various firms and I invite you to solicit information as regards the following claims: LYNDON, the leading commercial photographer to Michigan stu- dents for the past twelve years, claims to be the most reliable photog- rapher in Ann Arbor for anything photographic (except portraits). Ask anybody who knows, and you will go to Lyndon for- Eastman kodaks, cameras, special lenses, photographic supplies, lantern slides, copies, enlargements, and AMATEUR FINISHING. We do more amateur finishing than all others combined because we give better service and give better results while our prices are as low as others. s_ - Sheehan NEW MANAGEMENT TEXT BOOKS and SUPPLIES FOR ALL COURSES Real Values in Second-Hand Books I. After 40 minutes of milling, the so-called regu- lars triumphed over the so-called' scrubs 6-0. Both teams fumbled considerably. Some good playing was seen, but it was overshadowed by the slip-shod work that was a part of many plays. Most of the poor work can be attri- buted to the length of time which has elapsed since moleskins have been worn by those present on both sides, and the newness of each man to the style of those playing around him. West, playing fullback on the regu- lar team, made the only score. Like- wise his playing for the afternoon was as good as any of the yearlings. McGinnis will not make any cut in the squad until the middle of the next week at least. This after'noon the fresh will scrimmage the Varsity re- serves, beginning at 1:30 o'clock. Aft- er a short practice they will be given the opportunity to watch the Varsity go after Case. ,GEORGE SISLER, EX-BASE E EL L CAPTAIN, TO MARRY Another unwary young man has succumbed to the wiles of the maiden. George Sisler, '15E, ex-captain of the 1913 Varsity baseball team and at present scintillating first-sacker of the St. Louis Browns, will sign an iron- bound contract on the twenty-first of this month, and inasmuch as the late lamented Federal League no longer affords a haven for those who find their bonds irksome, it would seem that George is in for life. The party of the second part is Miss Kathleen H-olznagle, '15, a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. The cere- mony will take place in Detroit. Glee Club Tryouts Tomorrow Night Glee club tryouts will be held to- morrow night at 7:00 o'clock in room 205 N. W. In view of the fact that the musical clubs are to take a 10,- 000-mile trip to the Pacific coast and the south this year, a large turnout is expected. On the trip the clubs will play in Chicago, St. Louis, Denver, Salt Lake City, Los Angeles, New Or- leans, Memphis and a number of other places. Canadian Revenues Show Big Increase Ottawa, Oct. 6.-Canadian revenues totaled $103,000,000 for the first half of the current year. This is a $30,000,- 000 increase over the same period last year.
