This gasoline test- ing outfit is the same as that used by the research division, of S. A. E. in the special tests on Sheepshead Bay track last fall, which proved entirely satisfactory. At present these tests are run regularly by the laboratory testing squads. A gate has been set up on the front axle which operates the trippers, which are used in con- nection with the special acceleration testing outfit for detecting accelera- tion or pick-up of a car. This ap- paratus consists of electrical contacts which are located on the road at in- tervals of a hundred feet and a re- volving drum upon which a marker registers seconds and also the time of contact of each tripper on the road. This complete apparatus has been developed by the M. E. 33 research squad this semester.
