Mon., Tues., Wed. 21 STANFORD NEW OPPONENT ON BASEBALL SCHEDULE (Continued from Page Three.) understood that negotiations are pend- ing and that it is probable that the diamond aggregation will be shunted southward before they open on Ferry field. Kalamazoo College First. The first contest on Ferry field will be against Kalamazoo college and the second against Marshall college of West Virginia. This last team is a new opponent for the Wolverines in Ann Arbor, although the southerners have been met in previous years when the team went south. One of the surprises of the schedule is the game against Leland Stanford, which is down on the books for June 27. This will wind up the season and if the excellent track team that the westerners sent to Ann Arbor last sea- son be a criterion, their diamond ath- letes may be expected to caper about much as though they were fully ac- quainted with the duties confronting them. The Eastern Trip. Syracuse is the first team met on the eastern trip and after a two-game stand against the Orange, Michigan moves on to Ithaca, where the Cor- nellians are encountered in a two- game series. Swarthmore follows and the trip winds up against Pennsyl- vania. The first team that the Wol- verines tack up against on their re- turn is the Polish seminary. It will be remembered that the All- Fresh opposed the Poles last season in two games and split even, winning the first and dropping the second. May 26 is an open date as yet. FARRELL GETS BEST TRACK ENCOUNTERS IN SOME TIME (Continued from Page Three.) bable that one Simpson, of hurdling fame, may be encountered there, and if there are many of his caliber the meet should resemble an amateur Olympic fest. Cornell will bring about the strong- est team in the east to Ann Arbor when the Red clashes with the Maize and Blue team here. This means that it is about the best combination in the country. Cornell excels in track and field events and in nearly every meet in which that team engages drags down the lion's share of points. Relays Start Outdoor Season Two relay carnivals introduce the outdoor season. The first is the Drake affair at Des Moines, and the second the Penn races at Philadelphia. These meets mean that material for combina- tion runners will be very much in de- mand over in Waterman gym from now on. Between the relays and the first outdoor dual meet there will be an opportunity for the home talent to exhibit its wares in the annual Varsity meet May 5. Notre Dame is to be en- countered at South Bend, followed by Syracuse at Ann Arbor. As a wind-up to the season the team will go to the eastern intercollegiates. There are rumors that the big event of the year will be held at Ithaca this season. See Mary Pickford in "The Pride of the Clan," at the Arcade, Jan. 22, 23, and 24. 21 Try a Michigan Daily Want Ad.
