HARVARD WITHDRAWS FROM
SHARPSHOOTERS' ASSOCIATION
Cambridge, Mass., Jan. 19.-Harvard
has withdrawn from the National Rifle
association, notifying that organization
that it will hereafter arrange its own
gunning schedules.
Harvard's excuse is that she has not
been able to meet the Yale, Princeton
and Cornell teams because of the rank-
ing of the association, which placed

the seniors and sophomores line up
against the juniors and freshmen.
This will be the last game before the
selection of the class teams, which
will take place after the opening of
the second semester. The squad is
unusually large this year, and more
than 75 girls are still in the running.
Miss Alice Evans, director, stated
yesterday that the task of choosing
teams will be extremely difficult with
the wealth of good material at hand,
and on this account the second teams
will be but little inferior to the first.
A schedule of games will thus be ar-
ranged for them as well as for the
first teams.
'Wednesday's game will be an influ-
ential factor ia determining the per-
sonnel of the teams and promises to
be a particularly hard-fought contest
in consequence. It will commence at
4:50 o'clock sharp and Miss Evans
will referee. The exact. lineups are
