Year Agreement With Game Here In 1917 Michigan will not play Princeton next fall. So much concerning the 1917 foot- fall schedule was stated last night by Athletic Director Bartelme. The Wol- verines and Tigers will not clash for the edification of the football world next season, that much is assured, al- though the remainder of the schedule cannot yet be announced. The reason given for the failure of the two universities to arrange suc- cessfully a game is that Princeton is not yet ready to enter into a two-year contract. The eastern institution would have been willing to play one game with the Maize and Blue, but negotia- tions fell short of completing arrange- ments for a return contest, hence the resultant outcome. Much has, been said and written anent a possible Michigan-Princeton game, and the possibility of such a contest has aroused great interest in the football hemispheres, both east and west. In view of the wide speculation and interest the athletic office consid- ered it advisable to announce definitely that no game between the two institu- tions will be scheduled for the coming season. The official schedule may not be given out for publication before the 15th of the month, since the board in control of athletics will probably not hold its meeting before that time. It is probable that the schedule will be submitted to the board for its approval at the next gathering, but in the mean- while nothing definite, with the ex- ception of the refusal of the Prince- ton game, has been decided upon. AUTIOITI E S ARE WOIiING ON WA E RI NE TN~iS SC IDULE Among the varsity schedules which are now being worked out, the 1917 tennis team's exact dates and contests are still undecided, but it is certain that the team will make its eastern trip as usual about the middle of May. Among the possible opponents the team will meet on this trip are Yale, Princeton, Brown, Cornell, Navy, Le- high and Lafayette. The schedule will be printed later. The 1917 squad under Captain Codd lacks veterans but the material at hand, as shown by the fall tournament, seems to guarantee the selection of a formidable band of racquet wielders. Although there may be an abundance of good material there is also a large hole in the lineup to be filled and it is hoped that many will try out for the honors and that the team which in- vades the east will represent the best Michigan can produce in this line. TO CONTINUE ELECTION FRAUD INVESTIGATION IN MID-WEST Washington, Jan. 4.-The depart- ment of justice announced it will con- tinue its probe into alleged election frauds growing out of the recent presi- dential election in Indiana, Ohio, and Illinois. Frank C. Dailey, special assistant to the attorney general, is in Washington today conferring with justice depart- ment heads relative to prosecutions. Assistant District Attorney Wallace, in denying a widely circulated report that the probe had been dropped, said the investigation would be pushed "with renewed vigor."
