TOTAL REGISTRATION
TO DATE EQULS100
MIVIWGAN MEN REQUESTED TO
REG~ISTERt NOW TO
AVOID RUSH
Four hundred students registered
yesterday under the provisions of the
conscription bill, bringing the total
registration for two days up to 1,000.
Very few of these men have offered
any reason why they should be exempt
from service, and the officers in charge
are gratified by the attitude shown.
The majority of those registered to
date are out-of-state students, and it
has been requested that more Michi-
gan men take advantage of the oppor-
tunity to sign up this week in order
that any rush may be avoided next
week. Many more men can be accom-
hiodated in the offices than have re-
ported up to this time.
The registration of foreign students
has been small during the past two
days, and Registrar Arthur G. Hall
requests that all foreigners take notice
of the fact that every male in the
United States between the ages of 21
and 31 must register. Registration in
no way compels them to enter service
if unnaturalized.j
