With the exception of the light -showers of the past week, there has been very little rain, and the courts on Ferry field are in excellent condi- tion. Every day brings more men out! and it begins to look as if tennis would be very much alive throughout the re- mainder of the year. The schedule, which is now being made out by Mr. Bartelme, gives promise to be one that will give the -Wolverines some strong competition, and if the schools, with which the! matches are booked, have anything{ like their average teams, they will make them play every minute of the match, to win. The following matches have already been booked: April 27-Ohio State at Ann Arbor. May 3-Chicaga at Ann Arbor. May 11-Ohio State at Columbus. May 25-Chicago at Chicago. On the sae day that the Wolver- ines play the return match at Chicago, the Michigan track team will meet the Maroon tracksters, while Coach Lundgren's proteges will take on the fast Windy City nine. It is Michigan day in Chicago and all the Alumni will be there, and see the track and base- ball teams win, of course-while- The tennis team should win, and there is no doubt that they will, pro- vided there is sufficient interest tak- en. The material is here, more than 'there is at Chicago, and better, the schedule will offer some lively tilts and a bunch of loyal followers of the game are wondering how we stand with the strong Big Ten combinations men who will travel to the Ohio town for the series of contests are prac- tically known to those who have fol- lowed the work of the team. The reg- ular Varsity infield of Garett, Knode, Adams, and Gilmartin, with the out- field of Ohlmacher, Cooper, and'Lan- genhan, and Genebach, catcher, are sure to go. TJe coach has declared that he doubt- less will take five pitchers, and this means that Scheidler, Parsons, Saund- ers, Ruzicka, and Glenn will be car- ried along. At least one extra catch- er will be taken, and Mraz seems to have the call at the present time be- cause of his good hitting. Wilkins, Bowerman, Haidler, and Morrison are possibilities for the other men on the trip, and two of them will probably go along. The team returns to Ann Arbor April 15, and will have a week in which to further its preparations for the in- vasion of Western Reserve on April 20.
