It seems to me that "Blue Book Blues" and "Zeppelins of Love" very conclusively prove not only that the women are capable of acting in the' opera, as it should be done, but also that they put just as much "pep" into their acting as can be found any- where outside the professional stage. If the opera was not up to stand- ard this year, it was due not to the presence of women in the cast but to the fact that there was not enough talent and "pep" among- the men. This is so because in every scene the acting of the women was fully as good as any unbiased person could expect. The women who took part in the opera are to be praised-not criti- cized--for their co-operation in mak- ing the opera a success. A. C. M., '20E. Bayonnites Hold Farewell Banquet The Bayonne (N. WOOD TO DISRCUSS OPPORTUNITIES FOR WOMEN Mr. Arthur K Wood of the sociology department will talk on "New Oppor- tunities for Women" at 4:15 o'clock this afternoon in Sarah Caswell An- geli hall. Conferences will be given after the lecture by Mr.Wood and Miss Anna Cowles, state club worker for girls, who will also speak. In Mr. Wood's recent speech on the :"Social Outlook of the World To- day," he touched on the influence of the war on occupations for women, and suggested that the curriculum of the University might possibly be af- fected by the occupations now open to college women. He stated that such openings are increasing faster. than they can be filled. In his lec- ture this afternoon, Mr. Wood will point out what some of these op- portunities are, and just how they affect Michigan women, I 1I The Slater Book Shoj Gregg Shorthani.
