Storrer GOOD-BYE, NAVAL AUXILIARY Seventy members of Michigan's unit of the naval auxiliary reserve will droptheir University work for the period of the war before tomor- row. They will go into the actual service of their government. An old fashioned handshake and God-speed should be given each of these men today. They are leaving a college life on the one hand, and. on the other Michigan is losing 70 more of her own to the bigger thing -the nation. One of the big things which Michigan should leave with these men is the knowledge that Mich- igan will not forget them. They, in turn, will not forget Michigan. In one way, part of our University is leaving for something bigger. It's the old story-they have heard their call and answered. Jack bait reported Billy Sunday's opening "chase the devil" rampage in Chicago. Editor, The Michigan Daily: I have heard that the naval auxil- iary will leave at 6 o'clock Monday morning. This is early, we admit, but we should show our Michigan spirit by giving them a rousing fare- well. Some of us will probably say, "Why{ should we give thema a send-off at such an hour?" If we are willing to march in the parade last fall when the drafted soldiers of the town were leaving-and we knew few of themr personally-why then should we not give Michigan men a farewell? For this reason I should like to see every Michigan man and woman present when the naval auxiliary leave. FROSH.
