WOLVERIES MIX WITH INIANA FIVE TONI T GAME MARKS RE-ENTRY INTO CONFERENCE BASKETBALL FOLD According to the Indiana . college paper, the Michigan basketball team was defeated by Ohio State a week ago last night. The Daily sport staff} and the Michigan Athletic association are glad to be infP nmed of the contests and since the game was said to have been played in Waterman gymnasium, they are sorry they could not see it. Mitchell's Wolverines hook up with the Indians quintet in Waterman gym- nasium tonight in the game that marks Michigan's re-entry into the Conference basketball fold. With the exception of Cohn, who is under the weather, every man on the Michigan five is ready to mix things with the Hoosiers, and though not go- ing so far as to predict victory, the Wolverines are certain that the visit- ing aggregation will have to move pretty fast in order to keep things even. - The Indiana team has won its last few games in a manner that indicates a classy combination in the- Hoosier institution and the Bloomington lads are already chalking up the victory. Coach Mitchell will probably line up; his men as follows: McClintock, l.f.; Bornstein, r.f.; Later, c.; Bartz, l.f.; Ruzicka, r.f.7 'ATE STREET ARCADE MAIN STREET AT WASHINGTON Pep Increases in Rookie Teams Company A Plays Yearlings in Pre. liminary Game Before Indiana Tilt With more companies putting out basketball teams, the elimination con- test which willi take place soon after the holidays will be a fight to the finish. Dr. George A. May is well pleased with the enthusiasm shown" by the different teams and their prompt re- porting for practices. At present the eight companies in the first regiment all have their teams practicing daily but two companies in the second regi- ment have failed to select their men. Tonight before the Indiana-Michigan game the crack freshman quintet will play company A basketeers before the big contest and judging from the work of the cadets in practice games the yearlings will find stiff competition. The lineup: Company A-Bowers and Pheney, forwards; Brooks, cent- er; Moore and Kennedy, guards. Freshmen: Isbell and Williams, for- wards; Van Brook, center; Wilson and Karpus, guards. The rookie quintet have the desired pep in as much as they have voted to buy their own uniforms. As this is the first attempt at or- ganizing company teams, the interest displayed by the different companies shows that athletics is one of the main features in the training of the cadets With the schedule in complete form the players are not hindered by any unnecessary interruptions. The dental students enlisted in the military training courses have also selected their teams and are out un der full swing.
