A. Frayer, W. H. Hobbs, J. W. Scholl, E. R. Turner, and C. H. Van Tyne will give addresses in towns throughout the state from now until the time of the next issue of Liberty Loan bonds. These lectures are to aid the cam- paign of the bureau of patriotism to educate the public for the third loan drive. Besides public addresses, cir- culatio'n of literature and personal so'- icitation will figure in the campaign. Both addresses and pamphlets will treat on all phases of the country's relation to the war. CAMP CUSTER SOLDIERS AID "Y" IN WAR FUND CAMPAIGN Battle Creek, Nov. 17.-Camp Cus- ter boys have aided the work of the Y. M. C. A. in its fund raising cam- paign to such an extent that Michigan will probably over-subscribe her quo- ta. Letters written back home gave the much needed impetus to the "Y" campaign, which is especially noted in the smaller towns, according to A. L. Parker, camp secretary, who has just returned from a trip through the state. MICHIGAN NATIONAL GUARD TO BE CARED FOR BY WOMEN Thirty-second Regiment To Receive Knitted Garments and Food Special attention in the matter of comforts and good things to eat, is being paid the members of the Thirty- second regiment of the Michigan national guard by the Women's com- mittee (Michigan division) council of national defense. The Grand -Rapids unit proposes to give the entire sum of $2,411, which it netted from feeding the troops while mobilizing, for a mess fund for the companies of the regiment. The mat- ter of determining how this can be done now that the regiment has been absorbed by the national army has been taken up with Gen. Louis C. Cov- ell at Camp MacArthur, Waco, Texas. Members of the Kalamazoo unit are shipping 150 glasses of jelly for the Thanksgiving dinner of the members of Company C. Sweaters are also be- ing knitted especially for the boys at Waco.
