Dr. M. S. Rice, of the Woodward ave-
nue M. E. Church of Detroit, will be
the principal speaker of the evening.
Dr. Rice recently returned from
France where he has spent six months
in. studying the conditions of the
camps. As one who is familiar with
the circumstances now existing on the
European battlefronts, Dr. Rice is
much in demand as a speaker in con-
nection with the war.
Other speakers will be Frank
Murphy, '12, who is well known to
pperclassmen as a pep-meeting speak-
er, and Dr. Fred Wahr, formerly of
the German department, both of whorn.
are now at Camp Custer.:

FRIENDSHIP FUND OBTAINED
Two hundred dollars from an un-
known source forms a nucleus for the
Y. M. C. A. fund which is to be raised
in the coming campaign conducted
by the city committee.
Ann Arbor's quota for this ,fund is
$10,000, and from reports it is ex-
pected to be oversubscribed. Sub-
scription's of $500 by the An n Arbor
