CRITICISES AUTHORITIES
SAYS THAT USE OF AUDITORIUM
SHOULD HAVE BEEN EXTENDED
TO DR. CONWELL
Editor, Michigan Daily:
After listening to Dr. Conwell's
splendid lecture at the Methodist
church on Sunday night, it seems un-
warrantable that it should have been
made impossible for every student and
young man and woman in town to hear
him. Also after his rather touching
reference to his former pleasure in
speaking in the "great University au-
ditorium," it seems highly regretable
that he should not have been extended
the courtesy of Hill auditorium-es-
pecially as, considering his advanced'
years, there is every possibility that
he will not visit us again.

TRELEAVEN, '18D,. CLAIMS CRITI-
CISMS ARE NOT JUSTIFIED;
URGES REPORT.
Editor, The Michigan Daily:-
There can be no justification for
any further communications or writ-
ings of any sort as regards the una-
voidable mistake made by the band in
playing the national anthem last Sat-
urday.
It must be conceded by all that in
the past, since its organization, the
band has always acquitted itself with
credit, both for itself and the Uni-
versity, and that it has always been
an inspiration to the players, alumni,
and the student body.
In the future, let's stand by the
hand and give it the combined,' undi
vded, and enthusiastic support it de-
serves,

that they do so at once.
