Why: The senior wide reciever scored Michigan's first touchdown Saturday
against Indiana on a 56-yard punt return. Later in the game, he caught a three-
yard touchdown pass. He finished Saturday with three catches for 53 yards.
Toomer also completed a pass to fellow reciever Mercury Hayes. The play was
good for 37 yards.
Background: Pre-season All-American ... Named to first team All-Big Ten by
coaches media in 1994 ... ranked first in the Big Ten and eighth in the nation
in receiving yards with a 93.9 average in 1994 ... ranks first on the 'M' single
season receiving list with 1,096 yards for the 1994 season ... enrolled in the
College of Literature, Science and the Arts ... born Sept. 8, 1974.

visited two floors of Mott and brought the children t-shirts
and paraphernalia. Cristie is her team's community relations
contact for the Student-Athlete Advisory Council and is
involved in various other community initiatives. This summer
Cristie was an intern at NIKE corp. where she was involved
with aspects of their community relations effort entitled
P.L.A.Y. (Participate in the Lives of America's Youth). Cristie
hopes to be involved with some on-campus P.L.A.Y. events
taking place later this school year.
