SPRING Continued from page 5 this vagabond has yet heard, Rock 92.3 FM - ten songs in a row, without interruption except to say, "This is Rock 92.3." Imagine: Lynyrd Skynyrd, Steve Miller, John Cougar (before and after Mellencamp), Paul Mc- Cartney, Aerosmith (before Steve Tyler became a wimp), David Bowie (before, after, and during the make up), Bad Company, the Band, Pink Floyd, and Pat Be- natar, together in one incredibly orgasmic rock block. All the songs are great, so you don't even have to fiddle with the scan button be- tween cheesy tracks. Elton John seemed to be the most frequently played artist on the radio among all the states we toured. By the way, I know of a couple of nomads who would be very grateful for the lyrics to "Rocket Man." One final note: if during your travels down South you stop some- where to ask a police officer for di- rections and he tells you to go left at Rahway, make sure he doesn't mean Broadway. Kim 764-8850. r~ WEEKEND Continued from page 5 Byrne and Kimberly Herlick, the group's producer and director. Their polish and clever costuming, combined with creative manipulation of wooden chairs, made a convincing argument for armchair athletics. In the final performance, entitled "Baggage," the dancers moved around enclosed in brightly colored bags. The segment, which was the high- light of the show, was hysterically funny and quite ingenious. Fittingly, the show's weakest aspects were the intervals between dance numbers. In an effort to compensate for the time needed to make costume changes, amateurish emcee James Byrne performed una- musing jokes. The audience was subjected to a reading of Dr. Seuss' Green Eggs and Ham, as well as a discussion on various types of paper and plastic bags. Through poetry reading and some minor acting and jesting, the dancers also helped to ease the transition from one dance number to another. However, the en- ergetic and highly-professional dance performances usually compensated for the tedious interruptions. - Robin Kitzes 1- I a MICHAEL ENR, production 'Directed by F&-ENCOX ChoreographedIby NICOLE 'B'URRS and HETfERMBIN BEST MUSICAL 7 TONY AWARDS at the POWE rM Vaa R CENTER Hsu rt a' o . r . :' 0 0 NNW FORUMS ON THE EXPERIENCE OF WOMEN STUDENTS What is it like to be a woman student at the U of M?
