struments unaltered by technology.
It's very refreshing to know that
such a minimalistic show can still
attract a crowd and sell out a venue
like Hill.
At the start of each song, a good
deal of the audience was able to rec-
ognize a tune simply by the first
chord. Those in the first few rows
got an added treat, for they could
have easily learned the chord struc-
tures of the songs and then went
home and impressed their friends.

enormous amount of applause. Basi-
cally, the audience was there to be
entertained by these Georgian folk
music artists and to enjoy the music
they were all familiar with. From
the opening of "Welcome Me" to the
addition of a backup band for "Tried
to Be True" through to the closing
covers of Gershwin's "Summertime"
and the Youngbloods' "Get To-
gether," the fans got exactly what
they expected. Anything more would
have been completely unnecessary.
