Student volunteers are forging a connection between campus and community to address social issues and combat the problems they see working against our society. Campus Outreach Opportunity League (C.O.O.L.) is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting and supporting student involvement in community service. C.O.O.L. provides resources for students to tap into their own energy and create an effective action movement. Working with more than 550 colleges and universities as well as 250 local and national organizations, C.O.O.L. helps to set structures that challenge entire campuses to make community involvement an integral part of university life. This summer, The University of Michigan is hosting the National CO.O.L. Summit, a meeting of about 100 students and educators interested in shaping the community service agenda.
