Michigan Daily Athlete-of-the-Week.

WHO: Freddie Hunter
TEAM: Basketball
POSITION: Forward
HEIGHT: 6-5
WEIGHT: 200
HOMETOWN: Detroit
ACADEMIC YEAR: Junior
ELIGIBILITY: Junior

WHY: Hunter cracked into the starting lineup against Wisconsin and was instrumental
in both Michigan victories this week. The junior walk-on had a team-high eight
rebounds and seven points against the Wildcats and eight rebounds and three
points yesterday. He played 38 out of a possible 45 minutes in the Wolverines'
69-68 overtime victory against the Badgers.
BACKGROUND: 1989 - Hunter starred in the Intramural competition last season as
well as the Gus Macker Three on Three Tournament in Ypsilanti last summer
before being invited to try out for the team.
PERSONAL: Attended University of Detroit High School and is a psychology major
with career plans in industrial psychology.
