The physical equipment is excell- ent. There are substantial buildings of steel construction and concrete floors. The camp has Its own electric' lighting system, water supply, and sewage disposal' All the buildings have electric lights and stoves and many have running water. The stu- dents are given, unusual opportunities for practical field work over the ex- tensive holdings of the University, and a good deal of work in sounding is done on the lake.' The students at Camp Davis are of a different nature than those at the Biological station, being almost ex- clusively students in civil engineer- ing, forestry, and allied subjects. A great deal of spirit is developed dur- ing a session at the camp and there are many activities. Baseball leagues have been organized and a paper call- ed "The Black Fly," a blueprint, is published. The Biological station also publishes a paper known as "The Biolog." Ample provision is made at both Camp Davis and the Biological sta- tion for the safeguarding of health. Dr. Warren Forsythe of the Univer- sity Health 'service, being in charge. He makes daily inspections of both places. Hospital facilities are pro- vided in a building at Camp Davis. PART TIME SCHOOL SYSTEM IS PRAINED BY PROF. MYERS (Continued from Page 1) canization at the critical time of the student's life. Must Remember Pupils Are Workers In planning for part time schools, Professor Myers declared that au- thorities must remember their pupils are workers as well as students. Teachers also must have this fact constantly in mind. The truth that many students left the regular school because of dissatisfactign with teach- ers, curriculum or conditions in gen- eral, must be recognized and taken into account. The most important thing of all, he said, must be a real- ization that during this period of em- ployment student workers under 18 years of age form habits, ideals and attitudes that have a great influence throughout their entire life. Professor Myers suggested that the system be extended to provide a part time school for teachers and for col- lege graduates who desire to continue some kind of research work in con- nection with their business. OLD UNION BUILDING WILL NOT BE TORN DOWN FOR A YEAR Destruction of the old Union build- ing, which was partially ruined by fire last winter, will not tike place for at least a year. Winter food stores for the Union have been placed in the old building, and scenery from the various Union operas is being kept there. It is also expected that Union opera rehearsals wlil be conducted there in the spring. The board of governors will later decide what is to be done about the building. _ . _,.R.N ...
