Hait, the dash entry, has been back for several days. Johnson, who was stricken ill soon after the indoor season ended. has not been in the best of shape since that time. Although he jumped 23 feet 71/ inches in the outdoor Conference meet, he was able to do only about 22 feet at Cambridge, which brought him a sixth place. This may have been due tp the fact that he had not juinped since the Con- fereice meet, but he had been in train- ing. If ,he trains sufficiently -on the way across and in Belgium, it is prob- able that Carl will take a first or a second out of the broad junip, Sol Butler being the only man who has ever bettered Johnson's re'cord of 24 feet 1 inch. Paul Courtois, of the Mohawk Ath.- letic club, is the one who would have gone in Johnson's place, if the Michi- gan star had failed to pass the phy- sical examination. He was next to Johnson in the Harvard trials, getting a seventh. RV. STALKER TO BE SPEAKER AT SUNDAY JNION SERVICE AT THE ARCADE; Viola Dana in "Dangerous to Men," will be shown at the Arcade for the last time today. This photoplay from H. V. Esmond's drama, "Eliza Comes to Stay," gives Miss Dana an interest- ing part. Her transition from the tom- boy school girl to the young woman of social charm is done with finesse, and she makes the vampire scenes thrill ing. For two days commencing tomorrow, the Arcade will show Mary Miles Min- ter in her latest production, "A Cum- berland Romance," from the novel, "A Mountain Europa," by John Fox, Jr., who wrote "The Little Shepherd of Kingdom Come," and "The Trail of the Lonesome Pine." Miss Minter has the role of an un- tutored mountain girl of great beauty. As. "Easter" she has a part which dis- plays her beauty and acting ability at, its best. She carries with equal con- viction clever comedy moments or well sustained dramatic situations. AT THE MAJESTIC In "The Young Myrs. Winthrop," which has its, final showing today at the Majestic, Ethel Clayton takes the role of a young society matron, en- grossed in pleasures. Her husband is as deeply engaged in business, and it seems impossible to keep them from drifting apart. The death of their young daughter appa'rently severs the only link be- tween the two, and they both are seek- ing. a separation, which is averted through the clever work of the old family lawyer. Charles Ray in "Paris Green," is the attraction Sunday, Monday, and Tues- day at the Majestic, In this picture Ray continues with his customary roles of a timid, bashful boy. FEDERAL BOARD STUDENTS TO MEET TUESDAY AFTERNOON, Federal board students have been requested to meet at 3 o'clock Tuesday afternoon in room 301, University hall.
