SUNDAY and MONDAY Madge Kennedy -in --- "THROUGH THE WRONG DOOR" Have' YOU ever blundered into a wrong, apartment at the witching hour of midnight? That's just what happens to Madge Kennedy in this picture. Perhaps you think you know what happens next-but you don't! And you never will until you see how Inquisite Madge went OUT smiling and engaged Dan Cupid in the merriest tussle of his romantic life. Also "SMILING BILL"' PARSONS IN "CIR- CUMSTANTIAL EVIDENCE." WESTERN FOREST FIRES THREATENTWO TOWNS BIG CONFLAGRATION RAGES IN MONTANA, IDAHO AND) WASHINGTON Spokane, Wash., July 18.-Every available man in, western Montana, northern Idaho, and eastern Washing- ton is being employed by the federal forest service and the private forest protective associations to fight the forest fires in Montana and Idaho that today were threatening two western Montana towns and millions of feet of standing white pine. High winds, abnormally high tem- peratures, combined with parched forests are all but rendering the ef- forts of 1,000 men fighting the many forest fires useless. The towns threatened with destructiol are Ath- erton and St. Regis in Montana. Mining Town Destroyed Between 700 and 1,000 acres in the Helena forest are burning, ravaging some of the timber and destroying the old mining town camp of Jim- town, one and one-half miles from York. The blaze has been burning for weeks, most of the time under control, but Thursday's. high winds spread it rapidly and meager reports indicate the fighters are being beaten steadily backward. Fires Out of Control Fires at the head of Rock Creek on the Smith river slope, hitherto un- der control, broke away from the fire fighters and are burning fiercely. Blazes at the head of Beaver creek and six small fires in different sec- tions of the forest that started Thurs- day have been put under control. To attempt to stop the Rattlesnake creek fire in the Missoula, Mont., for- est, the fire fighters have made a fire line of more than 23 miles. The fire itself has a six-mile front. AT THE THEATERS AT THE ARCADE Today Hale Hamilton will appear in "Full of ep," a Metro picture. This production has been rightly named, for it sure is "full of pep." It is as breezy and lively as its catchy title. It tells of the rollicking ad- venture and romance of a dare-devil young American. He undertakes to land a cargo of munitions in a small South American republic. To screen his real motive he poses as a patent medicine salesman and offers a con- coction known as "pep" (sometimes know as whiskey), with the aid of which he is enabled to cure the entire army of their revolutionary ideas and restore the rightful government. Not only does he gain the gratitude of the president but he also wins the love of the president's beautiful daughter. Sunday and Monday Madge Ken- nedy will be shown in her latest Gold- wyn picture, "Through the Wrong Door." This is a thrilling romance of a girl who determined to pick the man she would marry and leave nothing stand in her way when she found him. Straight through the wrong door she passed-bumped into the right man-and won him! A comedy-drama jammed full of sur- prisingly new situations and typical Madge Kennedy humor. U. S. NOW GREATEST FACTOR IN BRAZIL'S IMPORT TRADE The United States during the last five years has become the chief fac- tor in Brazil's import trade. In 1918, when Brazil's total imports aggregat- ed $247,000,000, the United States sup- plied commodities valued at $89,000,- 000. British shipments to Brazil amounted to $50,000,000; Argentine, $47,000,000, and French, $12,000,000. In 1913. the United Kingdom led in exports to Brazil, supplying her with goods valued at $80,000,000 out of total imports of $326,000. Germany sent goods amounting to $57,000,000; the United Sttes, $51,000,000; France, $32,000,000, and Argentine, $24,000,000. is keenly felt during this wonderful summer weather and a woman must partly express this radiant feeling by the apparel she chooses. SILK SWEATERS JOYOUSLY COLORED I have gradually been assembled in our second floor fashion salons, until scarcely an expressive hue is missing. Women of decided coloring will choose from the bright shades of purple, Peacock blue, Hunters green, coral, and flame. Sweaters of robins egg blue, copenhagen, rose, soft gray, and beige will delight the woman of softer coloring. They are of silk and wool jersey, in plain, drop stitch, or novelty weaves. Often the collars and perhaps vestees are of contrasting color and weave. SILK SPORT SKIRTS INSPIRE DELIGH because they are fashioned of such wonderfully exquisite ma- terials. Skirts of Fantasi silk achieve great beauty in their double texture combination of purple and silver, purple and gold, copen- hagen blue and rose, and Kings blue and gold. A white plaid Fantasi skirt is also noticeably good looking. Baronet satin fashions other attractive models. Conspic- uous in this group is one of silver, lined in orange; one of white heavily embroidered in black and white; and one in a deep rich shade of rose. Quite the daintiest and most summery of them all, are the Georgette skirts. Perhaps tiny pin tucks going round and round furnish the only trimming. Or again it may be a hem of Baronet satin, or the embroidery which furnishes the distinguishing style feature. The Lure jo the Great Outdoors .* ,iZ df Sao Prof. A.
