"Please" means "Please Walk on the Grass." 'Whenever you are near the campus, always go around that way, because the grass there needs treading on. The grass is much more pleasant to walk on than the hot sidewalks. If you are a visitor in Ann Arbor, and are not ac- quainted with our customs, let us ad- vise you to never, never, tread on the walks because you will wear out the cement. Besides they are reserved en- tirely for the bicycles. If you stand at the end of the diagonal walk some day, watch them as they come whiz- zing by. The city fines any pedestrian $10, who uses the sidewalk between 7:00 a. is. and 10:00 p. to. At all oth- or hours you are entitled to use them.
