New York's bid for supremacy will be made by representatives of the New York A. C. and the Ravenswood Boat Club of Long Island City. The entries for the 13 events are apportioned as follows: Intermediate singles, 11; intermediate doubles, 3; intermediate eights, 4. quarter mile dash, 3; association singles, 11; cham- pionship singles, 3; senior doubles, 2; senior four shells, 5; senior quadruple shells, 2; senior eights, 7; intermediate four shells, 5; senior international four shells, 5; junior eights, 3. No previous national championship regatta could ever boast of an entry of more than seven senior eights, the number received by the coming con- tests. OREGON'S COACH NEGOTIATES FOR CHICAGO FOOTBALL GAME Potland, Ore., Aug. 9-Negotiations are under way for a football game this fall betweenthe University of Chicago and the University of Oregon. The proposition is now in the hands of the Oregon faculty for approval. It is understood here that the Chicago end has been fixed. Hugo Bezdek, coach at Oregon and former Maroon fullback, is arranging the deal. Bezdek is spending his vaca- tion in Chicago, studying -medicine. Whether the game will be played in Portland or Chicago depends on the action taken by the Oregon faculty. i iuomobile Struck by Street Car The automobile of H. K. Knowlson of Forest avenue, was struck by an Ann Arbor street car while crossing the corner of Forest avenue and Hill street. The car was seriously dam- aged, the whole left side being badly scraped and the fenders bent in. None of the occupants of the car were injured.
