DISCONTINUE BIRD EXPEDITIONS IN NORTHERN PART OF STATE Expedition to Manistique this Summer to Collect Maimals, Plants and Bird's Eggs Expeditions in search of rare birds in the northern part of the state, which were generally sent out under the direction of Taxidermist N. A. Wood, will be discontinued this sum- mer on account of Mr. Wood having charge of the identification of birds at Camp Douglas. However, there will be an expedi- tion to Manistique this summer, con- ducted by Dr. A. G. Ruthven, direc- tor of the museum, and F. H. Gaige, assistant. Dr. Ruthven will collect ants and Mr. Gaige will collect mammals, wisle the others members of the party will search for bird's eggs and rare plants. The following will compose the re- mainder of the party: Mrs. Helen Gaige, Mr. Rogers, of the zoological department, and several Detroit men interested in research work.
