U. games at Chicago, July 5th, when eight Wolverines will compete under the colors of the Chicago A. A., which is expected to romp away with the vic- tory in the holiday games. The competition at the Windy city is important, since the winners will go to the Panama-Pacific exposition games later in the summer, where they will compete for national A. A. U. championships. Captain Smith, premier sprinter of the Michigan team, is likely to have things pretty much his way at Chi- cago, since Ward, the Midway marvel, can't run under club colors, and will not meet Smith until the final games to San Francisco. Carroll in the mile, Ufer and Fox in the middle distances, Cross in the weights, O'Brien. in the sprints, Cor- bin in the hurdles and one other Wol- verine are expected to face the starter at Marshall field Monday. Wilson, the Wolverine vaulter, will compete this summer for the Les eec geles athletic club; and will meet his team mates at San Francisco. Several Michigan men may compete in an op A. A.
