For the past few weeks there has been a great deal of talk pro and con regarding the proposed heating plant for the university. For good and suf- ficient reasons, arrived at only after the careful consideration, by the men who know the why and wherefore the "Cat Hole" was chosen as the most desirable location. The authorities in choosing the proposed sight have taken every precaution to guarantee a sight- ly building, and to maintain attract- ive grounds. Now come the adjoining property owners and with one voice protest against the proposed building. Their reason? 'Why, that the build- ing will cause a deterioration in land values. Bulkley are the committee which the regents appoint- ed at their meeting of July 18, to con- fer with the city council in regard to this mattter; but owing to the fact that their report is -not due until the last week in September, the committee has not yet met the council. The council has, in the meantime, appoint- ed its own committee to loolk into the matter which is causing so much com- plaint from the various residents of the fourth ward who object to the site chosen for the new power plant.
