A careful biologieal survey is being made of fle part of the Great Basin regiotn lying betweens the Corte and Penyoni ranges. The region is entire- ly desert, from the wase-filled val- leys to the summits of the nmoustaits, and the animals, like the plants, are hose wito adaptations to the ard cot- ditions.
