"It's a wonderful opportunity to make new friends, and have a lot of fun at the same time," assist- ant social director Beverly Alexan- der commented. Square Dancing Free square dancing lessons will be given on Monday nights from June 20 to August 1, with the ex- ception of July 4. Mr. John Redd will instruct the dancing in the Palmer Field tennis courts from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. In case of rain this activity will be canceled for the evening. Ballroom dancing lessons are be- ing offered for beginners at 7 p.m., and intermediates at 8 p.m. in the League ballroom on Wednesdays from June 22 to July 27. Although the fee for six lessons is $3.00 for men, girls will be admitted free of charge. Rudolph Martinak is the instructor for both classes. Al Townsend's orchestra will provide dancing on Saturdays, 9:00 p.m. to midnight, from June 25 to August 6 in the League ballroom. Admission is 50 cents per person. Bridge lessons, for beginners or those wishing to improve their game, are available on Tuesday evenings from June 21 to' July 26. Mrs. Walter McLean will lecture for the first half of the 7:30-9:00 sessions, and students will play bridge during the remaining time. The six lessons will cost $3.00 Mrs. McLean will also be in charge of duplicate bridge every Thursday at 7:30 p.m., for 50 cents a person. Room will be posted in the League for both bridge events. Stag or Drag Students may come to activities with or without partners. Season tickets may be purchased Tuesday or Wednesday evenings at the door. Meyering, Grad., has accepted the position of Director of Secondary Education with the Air Forces in Europe. His duties will include work in Turkey, North Africa, Spain, Eng- land,. France and Germany. Summer Playbill Includes Shows By Fry, Van Druten, Fontaine, Shaw Christopher Fry's drama "Ring Round the Moon," is the first play scheduled for the University's speech department summer play- bill. An adaptation of "Anouilth," the production will be directed by Prof. William P. Halstead and cos- tumes and scenery will be designed by Jack E. Bender and Phyllis Pletcher, all of whom are members of the department. Performances of "Ring Round the Moon," will begin at 8 p.m. and will be presented from June 29 through July 2 at the Lydia Men- delssohn Theater. Other Productions Other plays included on the summer playbill are "Bell, Book and Candle," by John van Druten; "Heartbreak House," by George Bernard Shaw; "The Happy Time," based on stories by Robert Fon- taine and the opera, "Fidelio" by Beethoven. Season tickets for the playbill productions are now on sale at the Lydia Mendellssohn box office. The box office, located in the north lobby of the League, is open from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. daily. Season tickets are priced at $6.75, $5.00 and $3.25. Single performance tickets for the plays, which go on sale next week, are $1.50, $1.10 and 75 cents.
